Primavera Expert Web Site + *Mt.Tamalpais Hiking

Hello fellow Mt.Tam hikers,

Here's a chance to get away to what may be for many, brand new trails. 

Meet at Jordan's house to arrange carpools and a caravan.

Directions:  Take the Central Ave. exit of either 580 or 80, head east toward the hills, but go less than only 2 miles from the freeway. Head down Central Ave., at the fourth street past the gas stations, make a right on Yosemite Ave. Go to the end.

Plan for the Day: It's a fast drive of about 50 minutes, mostly freeway, to the Staging Area Trailhead for the Morgan Territory Preserve, where we'll be hiking in the shadow of Mt. Diablo. We should arrive there about 10:00 AM. There are restrooms and water there.

For MTIA hikers it will be between a, "Saturday level hike, to a Moderate Sunday level hike."  There will be a steep downhill in the shade next to a creek bed. We'll climb a minor distance to a eastern view spot for lunch. Return will be a longesh gradual climb in the open.

Please bring a Memorial Day, carry with you, POTLUCK dish to share. (Guys no potato chips, you know who you are.)

I have all the plasticware. etc. Finding a very light POTLUCK table to carry will be a challenge. Bring drinks of your choice. Bring Picnic Blankets, a couch etc. 

It can get hot over there so make sure you have a big hat. Light clothes, sunscreen, etc.etc.

I expect to be back to the cars by 3:30 PM. If anybody knows a good stop for dinner along the return trip route, let me know. If there is interest, somewhere in Berkeley should be good.

Some things that stood out were the giant manzannita, seemingly beautiful oaks, endless Oregon blue oak groves and endless small green foothills, the craggy cliffs and rocky hilltops and escarpments. The views are to the east and maybe the snowcap on the Sierras will still be there to view (not shown in photos).

The photos were taken on an overcast November day. Landscape photos are naturally brighter on a sunny day.
